The CEO Mindset Shift That Changed Everything

by | Mar 25, 2025 | Blog | 0 comments

I used to be the kind of person who overthinks everything. So many ideas, so many visions of greatness—I saw myself on big stages, running a YouTube channel, building a business. But for some reason, I could never go all the way with my ideas.

Everything changed when I shifted my mindset. When I stopped thinking like an employee and embraced what I now call the CEO mindset, my life transformed—before I ever left my job.

Today, I run a seven-figure business. But it didn’t start with ads, funnels, or strategies. It started in my mind.

The Mindset Roadblocks That Held Me Back Before I made this shift, limiting beliefs ruled my thoughts:

I don’t know enough to coach anyone.

Would anyone actually pay me for my knowledge?

Maybe I need another degree to be credible. (I even applied for a PhD and quit after one semester.)

Why would people pay me instead of industry giants like Tony Robbins or Lisa Nichols?

What if I fail?

Failure terrified me. I carried a childhood experience of failing sixth grade and hearing my father say, “One year lost is never regained.” Since then, I felt like I was always trying to catch up. I didn’t want another failure—especially not a public one.

The Wake-Up Call One day, a mentor asked me, “Sandra, where are you?

That question hit me hard. I had been hiding—behind logos, behind excuses, behind the busyness of life. High-achieving women rarely get called out because we look like we have it together. But deep down, I knew I was playing small.

So now, let me ask you: Where are you?

Where are you in living up to your full potential?

Where are you in starting that business?

Where are you in writing that book?

For me, that moment of realization was a turning point. I understood that only I could change the trajectory of my life.

3 Shifts That Changed Everything

  1. I Stopped Treating My Business Like a Hobby For years, I had been dabbling. Investing some effort, then pulling back. Feeling shy about telling people what I do. But a real business demands full commitment. I decided to show up as if I were already successful—to embody that girl energy.
  2. I Invested in a Coach I had invested in college, a home, a car—but somehow, I hesitated to invest in my dreams. Hiring a coach was the first real CEO-level decision I made. I realized that successful people don’t figure things out alone; they seek mentorship.
  3. I Stopped Hiding I had been hiding behind my brand instead of showing up as its face. I avoided putting my real voice out there, afraid of judgment. But businesses don’t grow in the shadows. Authenticity and visibility were the keys to unlocking success.

The Biggest Lesson: Mindset is Everything People often ask, “What’s the secret to a successful business?” My answer? Mindset is 100% of the work. Your brain is wired to protect you—it won’t lead you to places it’s never been. That’s why imagination and belief are critical.

Athletes don’t stop training because they miss a shot. Kobe Bryant didn’t quit because he had setbacks. That same discipline applies to business. Success comes from showing up every day, even when it’s hard.

Are You Ready to Shift Your Mindset? If you feel stuck, ask yourself:

Are you waiting for permission?

Are you waiting for someone to say, “You’ve got next”?

Are you waiting to be ready?

The truth is, you must sell yourself on yourself first. The biggest belief shift you need to make is in you.
