How I Left My Six-Figure Job to Build a Seven-Figure Coaching Business

Are you stuck in the corporate world, dreaming of owning your own business but unsure where to start? Leaving a stable job to pursue entrepreneurship may seem overwhelming, but with the right strategy, it’s entirely possible to build a profitable coaching business.

The Power of Knowing Your Why

Before making the leap, clarity is crucial. Understanding why you want to leave your corporate job is the foundation of long-term success. When I was in corporate America, I loved my job, but I knew I was helping build someone else’s dream while mine sat on the shelf. Since I was a child, I’ve been passionate about helping women turn their dreams into reality. But every day, I felt like I was wasting my potential, stuck in a job that didn’t align with my values and vision for impact.

If you’re in the same place, ask yourself these three key questions:

What is your vision beyond corporate life?

What impact do you want to create in your business?

What values do you want to prioritize?

A strong “why” helps push through challenges and keeps you committed to your business journey.

Identifying Your Niche and Expertise

One of the most common debates in coaching is whether to niche down or not. The truth? Specializing in a specific area is key to success, especially when starting out.

Take Tatiana’s story. She always had a passion for doing hair but never thought it could be a successful career. Instead, she became a business analyst. The money was great, but something was missing. After taking a leap of faith and dedicating a year to building a business around her passion, she turned her hairstyling skills into a coaching business that now generates millions.

To find the right niche, consider:

Your passions

Your skills and experience

Market demand

Your niche should align with what you love, what you’re good at, and what people are willing to pay for.

Crafting an Irresistible Offer

An offer that clients can’t refuse is essential. To create a compelling offer, answer these three questions:

The Problem – What challenge are you solving for your audience?

Tatiana identified that many women wanted a low-maintenance hairstyle but didn’t want traditional options like locks.

The Solution – What unique framework or method will you use?

She created a brand-new method called Bell Micro Locks—a blend of micro locks with extensions—that set her apart.

The Outcome – What tangible results will clients achieve? Her clients left the salon with a customized, long-lasting style that gave them freedom with their hair.

Your method doesn’t need to be complicated—it just needs to be unique to you.

Building a Client Attraction System

Clients need to find you easily and understand how to work with you. A strong attraction system consists of:

Attracting Clients – Using social media, podcasts, YouTube, or paid ads to reach your audience.

Engagement & Connection – Creating ways for potential clients to interact with you, such as a Facebook group, email list, or discovery calls.

Sales Mastery – Learning how to convert leads into paying clients through authentic conversations and a solid sales blueprint.

Many of my clients get their first customers through referrals, proving that when you solve a real problem, people will spread the word.

Making the Leap

Walking away from a 9-to-5 doesn’t have to be just a dream—it’s possible with the right strategy. The transition won’t be without its challenges, but a solid blueprint makes all the difference. Some of my clients have successfully left their jobs in as little as 45 days.

Final Thoughts

Progress matters more than perfection. You don’t need to have everything figured out to start—you just need to start. Focus on:

Clarifying your why

Defining your niche

Building an attraction model
